Braxton Hicks Contractions

Braxton Hicks labor contractions were named by Dr. John Braxton Hicks to help obstetricians differentiate between "false" and "true" labor. Obstetricians have just as much difficulty diagnosing false labor signs as pregnant women do. (Although it goes without saying the obstetricians have a greater probability of being statistically correct.) When obstetricians are diagnosing real from false labor over the phone during the pregnant mum's ninth month, chances are that if the contractions are occurring at specific and identifiable intervals "true" labor is on the way.

In your later pregnancy, If you haven't come on to your 37th week yet and are experiencing Braxton-hicks contractions or what you think to be Braxton-hicks four or more times in a given hour you should call your doctor or midwife as soon as possible.

One of the main causes of those early contractions is due to dehydration. The immediate remedy for this is to cut out some romaine lettuce as if you were going to make a salad, and in a big glass, pour in drinking water and soak the cut out lettuce in the water for 30-40 minutes and drink the water. This is refreshment that you can make ahead of time and store it in the fridge as your main drinking water.

The contractions feel like a gradual tightening of your uterus. You will notice it starts at the top and continues down near your pubic bone. Your uterus will become a hard ball, sometimes feeling like it takes your breath away. Typically they last between 15-45 seconds, and are not regular. Although they typically are painless, some women will be quite uncomfortable while the contraction is taking place.

Sometimes, such contractions could be really painful and strong; however, at any other time a pregnant woman could even hardly sense this Braxton Hicks Contraction. The fact about such contractions is that they are generally only last for less than 24 to 36 hours. Usually at the end of the 2nd to the beginning of the third women will start feeling these contractions. The uterus hardens and some woman experience a little pain and then think they are in labor, normally it's not labor, you're just having a Braxton-Hicks contraction. Corbett National Park

Dhikala is located at the edge of the Patli Dun valley through which the Ramganga River flows. It presents an awesome view of the valley with the Kanda ridge acting as its backdrop. Elephant safari and jeep safari enable the visitors to explore the park and enjoy great views of the dense jungles and its many inhabitants.

The Sal and Sheesam is the most important characters of the north India is the timber trees which is grown in abundance in North India. Elderly Depression

Depression is more common in the elderly than in any other age group, affecting 20% of those living in the community and 40% of those who are living in care homes, according to the Mental Health Foundation statistics on mental health. Older people are less likely to complain of feeling sad or of having low moods and instead, will often complain of physical aches and pains. It can be difficult to diagnose depression in elderly people because the physical symptoms will often accompany other medical conditions and many will attribute any aches and pains either to illness or will consider them a natural part of growing old and not as a result of any underlying depression.

Elderly people with depression may be delayed in proper and effective treatment by doctors due to their transformation in certain situations and the very fact that they are expected to slow down. Even the family members may not rightly understand them. This leads to further suffering which could have been easily treated during initial stages.

When older people start to feel more "down" or "blue" than normal, it is advisable to seek treatment. Relatives or caregivers of old people should seek consultation with a mental health professional once signs of depression such as social withdrawal, changes in eating/sleeping habits, chronic bouts of sadness and thoughts about death or dying are manifested. Bereavement would be the most dramatic for all of us, but other causes of isolation, such as our children getting married or their moving to another part of the country, or our re-housing away from a familiar neighbourhood, are examples that can cause disquiet.

Powerlifting Squat

Squat is the first out of three lifting disciplines performed in a powerlifting competition. It is one of the most intensive exercises performed in a gym. Squatting requires a lot of practice in order to master the proper form and technique. Without the correct execution form you are limited from reaching your full lifting potential during the squat exercise.

Powerlifting on the other hand relies on limit strength making use of the whole body to lift and support the heaviest weight humanly possible. Ability to control the barbell with the most weight is necessary in powerlifting competitions.Thus, it is in powerlifting, which is where the strongest athlete is determined. This is because of his ability of lifting, supporting and controlling the heaviest barbell.

Although this is true for professional regimes this is not necessary for recreational purposes. First and the most important benefit of this activity therefore is gaining strength. If you're squatting, benching and deadlifting on a regular basis, your level of strength will gradually increase, which then leads to better health, lower blood pressure, less body fat in the long run, stronger muscle/tendon/cartilage/bone structure, better posture, and other gains. But let's inspect one step at a time.

Now it gets really weird. I'm sure the person is thinking, I must have fell off the treadmill, while walking, reading a book and drinking a latte. So to avoid this, I tell them, my shins get scraped from deadlifting. At this point, they either pretend they know what deadlifting is, or just stare at me with their mouths open and nod.

The bottom line is this, power lifting is about being honest with yourself and testing yourself mentally, physically, and emotionally (I often cry when I miss a weight, just kidding). If you try and kid yourself or place the responsibility on someone else you are either gonna get pancaked under a pathetic squat, get choked by a dropped bench press, or move to the head of the line of the geriatric look-a-like contest because you chose to ignore the finer points of dead lifting and now have a "crick-in-yer-back" look to you.

If you are a serious lifter that wants to improve your squats and you have a variety of resources to tap into then the addition of weighted chains are an investment worth taking. The chains can be used to add a whole new dynamic of resistance to just about every lift that you do with a barbell. Since we are talking about the barbell back squat the chains just have to be secured to each end of the barbell. As you descend in the squat with the chains attached the weight of the bar gets slightly lighter because more chain comes to rest on the ground.

In the front squat, the weight (usually a barbell) is held in front of the body across the clavicles and deltoids in either an Olympic grip, as is used in weightlifting, or with the arms crossed and hands placed on top of the barbell.

Intimacy Relationships

Finding the balance between relationship, family, work, friends, and personal time may be a challenge. Intimacy is first and foremost between a person and his or her self. And revealing oneself creates the potential for a situation of "hurt": a situation in which my subject of intimacy is made aware of my weaknesses, aware and able to hurt me, but yet I trust that they won't.

These are important, of course, but many therapists do these things and create strong bonds with their clients. Instead, we're talking about therapists having worked through their own issues in dealing with the negative aspect of intimacy, what we call the "dark side" of passion.

Many lifelong spouses and long term friends share a strong mutual commitment with each other: Perhaps they have been through thick and thin and, having survived all kinds of changes, are still together. What holds them together? Some lasting relationships persist mainly due to insecurity, fatalism, or negative dependence. Happily, many others endure because of higher qualities such as forbearance, loyalty, and self-transcendence. Even if the road is rocky at times, these spiritual virtues provide a good foundation for a truly positive love life.

There are as many ways to create an intimate, emotional connection as there are people. Intimacy is a very personal experience--what can feel like a meaningful connection to you might feel very different to your partner. Ideally, you and your partner are compatible in your need for and expression of intimacy. When major incompatibilities exist, it will be essential for you and your partner to accept the different paths you each travel to achieve intimacy.

Distance in a relationship is created if the couple fails to establish and maintain the needed closeness. That is why intimacy is a fundamental element of a relationship right from the beginning. Every person who is in a relationship should be aware of how to create it, as the closeness is responsible for strengthening the emotional bond between the partners.

Write "I Love You ____" with chalk on the sidewalk outside their office building. Then call and challenge them to find the secret message you've left for them somewhere between work and home. Have a special prize (even a candy bar, perfume, cologne, a sexy "teddy" nightie, a new CD of his favorite group, etc.) to give them if they find the message. Reducing Waist Size

Avoid shortcuts - Anytime you turn on the TV, it seems like you've found that Holy Grail of fat loss. There are belts, creams, pills, patches, and so on that all claim to be able to melt away the fat and inches off your midsection. If you fall for these scams, you will not get results. The only thing that will lose weight is your wallet. There are no shortcuts. To lose inches off your waist will require an effort on your part and a real lifestyle change.

Calorie reduction - this is also a myth; because although this is believed to be true, it does not actually work all the time. While eating foods that are lower in calories will help you maintain weight, this alone will not help in reducing waist fat. Also, starving yourself will just cause your metabolism to slow down, which will only make you gain weight in the long run.

What you do is suck in your belly button (that's an important distinction since most people who suck in their bellies suck in the upper abdominal area). So suck in your belly button as much as possible and hold it in that position for between 15-60 seconds. The longer the better.Repeat this for a total of 5 minutes each day. My clients average about 1.75 inches lost from their waists in less than a month doing this exercise. I even have some overly ambitious clients do this for 15-20 minutes a day and they average just under 3 inches lost from their waists.

Your metabolism is slowed down when you restrict calories to lose waist size, and that practically guarantees that any weight loss will not be sustained. You might realize an initial reduction in weight, but it should be noted that you do not accomplish weight loss long term by excessively reducing calorie intake on a daily basis.

Referring to eating good quality food, at first it seems difficult and "a bore" to do away with the less nutritious food, but believe me you will get used to it without a great deal of stress. Your body will adjust to the new hunger you experience by eating more nutritious substitutes. One tip that helps the hunger for the "old less nutritious food" is to drink water.

In your living room or wherever, just squat up and down as fast as possible. Be sure to touch or swipe your finger tips onto the ground with each repetition to insure you went low enough with the squat. Do 100 repetitions in less than 5 minutes. Once you can do that, add another 100 repetitions and do in under 10 minutes.

No equipment is needed for this exercise. Stand up straight and let your hands hang loose on your sides. Now bend your knees while keeping your back straight, doing a standing squat. Keep going down until your fingers touch the ground. Then bend back up into your standing position. Do 100 squats within 5 minutes; remember you want to be out of breathe by the end of 100 squats, as this is the point of burning the fat and reducing your waistline. Repeat for 3 sets.

Most people do not know why they have gained weight in the past. That is the way it is with habits, we do them without even thinking about them. But as you practice your newly found routine you will begin to notice what your old habits were.With the knowledge in hand, you can adjust your new routine to easier change old habits and establish new ones, thus beginning to lose weight, reduce waist size, and have better overall health.

Swimming Workouts

Swimming is an excellent way to keep in shape for those who don't enjoy going to the gym and running on a treadmill or sweating their way through a stair climbing routine. Swimming activates all the main muscle groups in the body, and the intensity of the workout depends on the individual swimmer. Since swimming is performed alone, it can be less intimidating that taking up a team sport, seeing as the swimmer is only racing against their personal best times.

Besides a place to swim, the most important piece of equipment you'll need is a good pair of swimming goggles. Get goggles that can be adjusted across the bridge of the nose. Fog free goggles work, but they lose this quality quickly and are much more expensive. Many people develop low grade nasal reactions to pool water. Using a nose clip will make your swimming workouts more comfortable.

Interval swimming - Interval training is a high effective form of cardio exercise with running, cycling, and other workouts. Swimming is no exception. What interval training means is that you change the pace of your workout every few moments. For instance, you swim very fast for a minute, then slow things down to a medium pace for 3-4 minutes. Then, you push yourself hard again, so on and so forth.

The first key is to make swimming a sport, not a social event. You're not at the pool to see beautiful people in bathing suits. You're there to workout. Swimming is perhaps the best way of losing weight since you are not just having fun but you are also working your body out. It helps in making your body strong especially your heart and lungs. Compare to other types of exercises, swimming can only burn few fats in your body, which is why many are not performing it as their workout.

The purpose of setting goals is not to become the next Michael Phelps but to give you something measurable to strive for, to work hard to achieve. If you're determined to be able to complete 50 laps in 6 months, you will put in a lot more effort in the pool to achieve this. This will make you workout harder will will also be good for your abs.

One of the first things to remember is that you should never do swim workouts on your own, particularly if you are uncomfortable in the water. Many of us may have a neighborhood pool where we are able to go down and work out regularly in the water. It can cause some real problems, however, if we should happen to over exert ourselves and find that we are in a dangerous situation. It would be much better for you to either stay in the shallow end of the pool or to recruit somebody to work out with you.

Whooping cough is an infectious bacterial illness that affects the respiratory passages. The disease is most contagious during the cold-like initial phase (catarrhal phase). In its early stages, pertussis is indistinguishable from the many colds common in children. However, after one or two weeks, the illness gets progressively worse. Worldwide there are over 60 million cases of pertussis a year with more than half a million deaths. Whooping cough is still a very serious disease when it occurs in children under the age of one year old.

Whooping Cough is spread by contact with an airborne discharge from the mucous membranes of an infected person. The disease is treated with antibiotics like erythromycin, azithromycin and clarithromycin. These antibiotics result in the person becoming less infectious but in the majority of cases does not change the outcome of the disease.

Epilepsy in Children

Epilepsy is a chronic disorder occurring most frequently in adolescents and the elderly. It can also occur in patients that have recently had or recovered from brain surgery. Epilepsy is neurological in nature and causes periodic seizures, which reflect brain over activity. Unfortunately due to the wide range of triggers, most people affected by this acute condition discover only after a seizure, the neurological hyperactivity.

The clinical data, along with the relevant investigation reports were sent to London to the reputed neurologist, Lord Walton, and he, after going through the case, labelled it as a case of 'benign focal epilepsy of childhood'. Later the case was taken up for personal discussion with Lord Walton during our meeting at General Medical Council, London. Breastfeeding will burn at least 500 calories per day. The higher calorific requirement for breastfeeding is just one reason that a little extra body fat is stored during pregnancy so that mum will have a ready source of extra fuel to make the milk. Breastfeeding then becomes a good contributor to help a new mum lose weight.

You are the best person to judge when deciding the time to start your weight loss plan.

There are particular challenges for breastfeeding mothers, as a usual weight loss plan can be dangerous for such mothers. Because restricting your calorie intake can decrease your milk supply. Chiggers Cure

Chiggers can actually continue to attach itself to your skin and feed for many days. However, you can easily get rid of them when you scrub your skin or take a shower. This is the reason why it is better for people who have stayed outdoors in the wild areas to take a shower immediately to prevent chigger attacks.

Therefore it suggested loose fitting, light colored clothing be chosen with the pants legs tucked into the boots (taller is better), long sleeve shirts of a rather tight weave. Since chiggers are lazy they will look for an opening to breach first. Once inside they will look for a nice warm tight place to order dinner.

Chiggers look like a monster from dinosaur days. Adult chiggers have eight legs and rounded body. The larval has only six legs and has a rounded body. An egg looks like an egg. Adult chiggers come in a variety of colors. Some are red, thus Red Bug. Some are amber or gray. Chiggers largely resemble spiders, of which clan they are a part of.

Scratching will not stop the itch, even if it does feel better momentarily. The scratching cannot go deep enough to remove the healing process of the body. It takes any where from a week to two weeks, sometimes more for the itching to subside. It is this mother of all itches that causes people to go insane looking for the chigger bite treatment that will actually put them out of their misery.

House plants must be treated with an insect killer or sprayed with a combination of diluted dish soap and vegetable oil(4 tablespoons of dish soap and 4 teaspoons of vegetable oil per gallon of water)or diluted Safe Solutions, Inc. Enzyme Cleaner with Peppermint(1 - 2 oz. per gallon of water).

Unlike a mosquito bite that will resolve in minutes to hours, the rash of chiggers takes days, weeks, sometimes over a month to go away. It doesn't actually require any treatment, and will go away on its own - that is, if you can stand to wait that long. The itching is so intense that most people cannot resist the urge to scratch (which only makes things worse and prolongs healing). In my experience, scratching also intensifies the immune-modulated reaction, perhaps by spreading the injected proteins more widely.

Bites: Insect bites can cause inflammation and severe itching. Several home remedies may be helpful in reducing the itch factor as well as the swelling. Rubbing alcohol, meat tenderizer, distilled witch hazel and lime juice are a few examples. If it is a chigger bite, applying nail polish is also beneficial.
