Primrose Oil to Induce Labor

The good news is there are ways to induce labor naturally without having to go through medical labor induction. To enumerate some ways, there are visualization techniques, meditation, affirmation, labor acupressure, herbs and homeopathic remedies, aromatherapy, castor oil, evening primrose and red raspberry teas, belly massages, nipple stimulation, sex and orgasm, and of course, exercise.

Inducing your labor naturally is a great alternative to using other forms of induction. Most of the natural labor induction remedies don't cause side effects to worry about, your baby's health won't be placed in unnecessary jeopardy, and you won't suffer any ill consequences. Some of the best ways to naturally induce labor are also safe and simple. Two common ways that you can induce labor naturally are by walking, and sexual intercourse. Some women may feel more pressure when they walk.

Natural herbal ingredients are also said to have some effect at inducing labor naturally. Evening primrose oil is usually recommended by midwives to be taken orally during the 34th gestational week, and then applied to the cervix during the full-term or the 36th week of pregnancy. However, no scientific evidence proves that the evening primrose does anything that the body doesn't already do on its own. Another herbal ingredient used is the red raspberry leaf which is made into a tea, and used to tone the uterus, getting it ready for childbirth.

A common method to self induce labor is to take herbal medicines like Blue or Black Cohosh. These are popularly suggested for inducing labor with the mistaken notion that anything herbal is harmless. That is to true. You should remember that these herbs have certain chemical components which give them a medicinal status. For instance Black Cohosh promotes bleeding, so if you are anemic it could make your condition worse.

Primrose oil is a type of medication that is inserted in the vagina. Primrose oil is used to actually prepare the womb for child birth in a number of ways. The cervix is very easily ripened and readied for giving birth. So as the vagina absorbs it the process of contracting starts slowly.

Apart from this known remedy there is also the irritation of the bowel method. When the bowel is irritated by prune juice, castor oil or even orange juice such irritation causes contractions to begin on a minor scale. And because of the fact that these are natural extracts even makes the method healthy and almost free of side effects. What I mean by almost is that using castor oil usually means diarrhea.

Black and Blue Cohosh are the 2 common ways to induce labor that are popular. Black Cohosh is known to be able to cause bleeding. Heavy blood loss is common in the event that the mother requires a C-section and this can lead to transfusions. Blue Cohosh does not cause excessive bleeding but it can negatively affect the baby's heart. This is exactly why such herbal products will require you to be under constant medical supervision.
