Natural Sinus Relief

Victims of chronic Sinus Congestion may have the following symptoms for 12 weeks or more: facial pain/pressure, facial congestion/fullness, nasal obstruction/blockage, thick nasal discharge/discolored post-nasal drainage, pus in the nasal cavity, and at times, fever. They may also have headache, bad breath, and fatigue. Typically this condition is the result of several causes combined.

Water itself is a very effective remedy and can be used to treat sinusitis as well. The water needs to be boiled and the steam needs inhaled. You can also add one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to improve effect. If you have peppermint oil you can add a few drops to the boiling water and again inhale the steam, it helps to open up the sinuses and relieve headaches and other associated symptoms.

One great way to use Vitamin C is to dissolve 500mg into a cup of very warm water. You can then use this solution to wash out your nasal cavity. The soft tissues will absorb the vitamin C and the water will irrigate your nasal cavity out.

The treatment of the infection is based on the location of the infection. The symptoms of sinus depend on the location of the infection. Some common symptoms of sinusitis include fever and nasal discharge. The usual treatments and sinus relief medication for sinusitis will vary depending on the location of the infection.

One good natural way is to get some saline drops and put a few of these drops in the nostrils, while the position of the head is kept rested all the way back in a chair. Patients are advised to hold this position for a few minutes. If you are suffering from prolonged sinus problems and do not find significant sinus relief even after following the above remedial measure, then you can try it again after just before you retire to bed for the night.

So many people swear by eucalyptus oil and for good reason. Here's what to do, boil up enough water to fill a good-sized bowl and fill 'er up. Drop in 3 drop of the eucalyptus oil and give it a little stir. Place a big dense towel over your head as you lean over the bowl.

One of the natural sinus remedies that will make you get better with breathing and lesser headaches. Use a humidifier or a draped pot of hot water to help thin mucus. Try adding a few drops of eucalyptus oil to enhance this experience. A cool mist humidifier can be particularly helpful in providing moisture to the sinuses and promoting healing. Those with mold allergies should be extremely careful to keep humidifiers clean since a small buildup of mold or mildew can occur in vaporizers or humidifiers.
